Insight: Install Android Studio on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS
Ubuntu 18.04 LTS is already in the download center. There are various things to do, applications installation guides and other stuff are available online. Today, we are going to install android studio in Ubuntu 18.04 LTS. Android studio is an official IDE for android development.
Install Android Studio On Ubuntu 18.04 LTS Via Snap
Execute the following command to install android studio on Ubuntu via snap.
sudo snap install android-studio --classic
Install Android Studio On Ubuntu 18.04, Ubuntu 17.10 and Ubuntu 16.04.
You need to have Java installed in your system before installing Android Studio. In this tutorial, we are using PPA or ORACLE Java. Run the following commands to install Java.
$ sudo apt install openjdk-9-jre openjdk-9-jdk
Now, Install Android Studio.
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:maarten-fonville/android-studio sudo apt update sudo apt install android-studio
You can access android studio from the dash or app launcher or use the following command to start.
After this you will see various screen where you can configure project path, name and more.
Install Android Studio in Ubuntu Using Ubuntu Make
Here at first we will install Ubuntu make from PPA.
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-desktop/ubuntu-make sudo apt update sudo apt install ubuntu-make
Now Install android studio using make
umake android --accept-license
umake will do installation for you.
