Right after the announcement of Ubuntu 18.04 release timeline, now rumour is up in the air as Ubuntu’s Parent Company Canonical is Heading for an IPO. Other company like Fedora and Redhat linux is already enjoying the success in the stock market. Mark Shuttleworth, the founder, and CEO of Canonical revealed the company plan of going for IPO.
In recent video interview with eWEEK, Shuttleworth revealed why he decided to cancel Unity and why he has now put his company on the path toward an initial public offering (IPO).
Shuttleworth said. “What you’ll see at some stage soon is that we have broken even on all the pieces that we do commercially without Unity,”
“At some stage after that, we will take a round of investment which will be a growth round and that will be aimed at helping us to become a public company in due course.”
