Insight: Install OpenCv Python In Fedora Operating System.
OpenCV is a short form of Open Source Computer Vision Library which is an open source computer vision and machine learning software library.
This library has more than 2500 optimized algorithms. OpenCv is mostly used to detect and recognize faces, track camera movements, produce 3D point clouds from stereo cameras, stitch images together to produce a high resolution image of an entire scene, identify objects, classify human actions in videos, track moving objects, extract 3D models of objects, find similar images from an image database, remove red eyes from images taken using flash, follow eye movements and many more.
In this tutorial we will learn to setup OpenCV-Python in Fedora operating system. We have tested this tutorial in Fedora 28 . Basically, There are two ways to install OpenCV Python in Fedora but here we will install it using relatively easy method.
How To Install OpenCv Python in Fedora Operating System.
Install OpenCV-Python from Pre-built Binaries
Install all packages with the command below in your terminal.
$ yum install numpy opencv*
After running the above command, t’s time to check whether OpenCv has been installed properly in your system or not. Open Python IDLE (or IPython) and type the codes in Python terminal.
>>> import cv2 >>> print cv2.__version__
If there are no errors then OpenCV-Pythons is installed properly.
