Ubuntu 16.04 LTS is already out for download with tons of new features and improvement. Among many of them, one of the interesting feature is to move the Unity desktop’s launcher to the bottom of your screen.

You can now change the position of the Unity desktop launcher from the side of the screen. Interesting part of this tweak is that you can’t move the desktop launcher to the right side or top of your screen. Here, we won’t talking about the various tweak tools to change the position. We will only tell you the process using simple command to tweak your Launcher’s position.

Run a below command in your  terminal:

gsettings set com.canonical.Unity.Launcher launcher-position Bottom

It will set your unity launcher to the bottom. It will take immediately and won’t get lost even if you restarts your computer. And if you want to get back to previous state, then type the following command.

gsettings set com.canonical.Unity.Launcher launcher-position Left

This command will bring the Unity launcher to the original state.
